Part of the Toastmaster journey is choosing to enter competitions. These start at club level, and can take the speaker internationally to stand amongst world class speakers from all over the globe.
Last weekend we saw members from our very own Sunshine Coast club progress to the second level of competitions, and practice their craft alongside other clubs.
We are so very excited and proud to shout from the rooftops that our very own Anthony Spark took out first place in the International Speech category on the day!! That's Anthony with the HUGE trophy and jubilant smile on the left........
Titled "The Uncomfortable Truth", he took the audience on a journey of how learning to sit with being uncomfortable can actually make us more resilient, adaptable and stronger human beings.
Congratulations to Melanie and Andrea for also getting up and giving their best on the day. At Toastmasters we applaud and support all of our members, and encourage them to take all their learnings from the day and apply them to all future speeches. There's always something to learn!
Competitions aren't for everyone, but its a wonderful playing field for testing yourself, and being creative with your words.
Congratulations to all our team - and we can't wait to see what happens at the next competition in March 2024!!

Annie says " I joined Toastmasters to learn how to structure speeches, and to share clearly. I love the people- they're next level amazing, with the way they share their feedback and knowledge, and have fun doing so along the way. There are so many different speech topics from gassy cows to marital bliss.......which are all educational and fun!"
No matter your reasons, there is always something to learn and share when you become a Toastmaster.
